F1 on the Red Button

Freeview channel 301 is continously showing excerpts
from previous German Grand Prix.

[BBC UK only.... sorry for you foreign johnnies ]

Starting with 1961... Moss, Innes Ireland et.al.
at the real Nurburgring, before they turned it into
an armco tunnel, up till 2008 Hockenheim.

It's a great trip down memory lane if you can 'get' it.

A classic from hockenheim showing at the moment! I remember those long straights heading off into the forest. Turbo engines too! They don't half bounce and slide around more than they do today

I was at Hockenhiem two weekends ago, drove the grand prix circiut. I always thought to myself that when they closed the forest section they had turned it into a micky mouse circuit - but no, it's one of the better circuits I've driven, one down side - it eats tyres like you wouldn't believe!!!

We went to the Nurburgring as well - to have a go on the roller coaster amongst other things and it wasn't finished

This is one thing I like about the BBC taking back control. You get to see the racing from years ago and some I do remember watching. Plus, no frigging adverts!

Is it only me or do anybody else still expect to hear Def Leppard 5 mins before the race starts?
