Formula 1 thread - 2019

Thought Id start the 2019 thread now. Not that they get the use they once used to!

I think it will be an interesting year for a few reasons..

I wouldnt like to be Vettel, he seems to be in a bit of a no win situation.. pardon the pun. If he beats Leclerc it will be said that he should, and if he doesnt, it will be said he is finished.

Merc and RB seem to have clear number one drivers for 19, despite what they may say.

Garage
I'm looking forward to it, I still don't like these spec of tyres though, almost as bad as when there were grooves, and I'd like refueling back,

Arrivabene has gone, replaced by the highly regarded Mattia Binotto. Hopefully it will shake things up a bit for the better. They maybe should have done this a few months ago though...

Announcements and testing

F1 2019 getting under way next week with presentations of all the new cars, Mercedes & Red Bull are Wednesday but Alfa Romeo waiting till Monday at Barcelona just before testing starts. For those like me, fed up with football something to look forward to. Might even get me in the garage and start to fettle the Spider ready for Spring Alfa Day at Beaulieu!

Yes, terribly sad about Whiting.

The first day of practice quickly showed that Mercedes was sandbagging big time and that the Scuderia is back to clutching at straws to find performance. Good to see Kimi doing well though

Impressive. I'm thinking I might get F1 channel on Sky. I will be in my element with both Scuderia Ferrari and Alfa Romeo.

More balanced FP3 but I must say, Hamilton has a couple of tenths in him over anyone else.

After the pre season testing that was disappointing. Let's hope it's closer in the race tomorrow

Future worldchampion, he had a great race yesterday.
Even with a bad start.

No doubt about it and it seems he is actually maturing a bit. It suits him.

I saw this a bit late, but after the faint amusement of what they did in the middle of the article, the last line slayed me.

Yeah, that link is going to fail to work because of the naughty word. Sure you can work it out though.
