Formula 3 is undergoing a wholesale revamp at present. It makes sense, amalgamating it with GP3, aiming to reduce costs, and promoting regional championships around the world. My fingers are crossed, because it's been a fabulous category to watch over the years, even if blighted by the difficulty in overtaking which characterises high downforce single seaters. Hope they get it right.
Each championship will use a spec chassis and engine, and the brand new Asian F3 Championship cars will be produced by Tatuus and the engines provided by Autotecnica. Autosport says "The basis for the Autotecnica F3 powerplant is the 270bhp, four-cylinder turbocharged, 1742cc Alfa Romeo 1750 TBi." Let's hope they at least put a sticker on the engine cover.
