Formula One 2018 Thread

So it appears Marchionne isn't bluffing about the new engine regulations and pulling Ferrari out.

What appears to have come out of the annual Ferrari Christmas dinner yesterday is that he means set up a rival series with most of the current teams, like a breakaway championship. Lets see how it all pans out!

Is anyone excited about next year?

Excitement about Formula 1.

Isn’t that an oxymoron?

There is also a good behind the scenes look at LeMans on there that I accidently stumbled accross...

Its very quiet in here. A sad endictment on the state of F1 now!

Anyway, the new owners are launching a new streaming service, for about $8-$12 a month. However, since lucky people in the UK are able to pay for Sky, we wont be allowed it!

How do you blokes (fair assumption or not?) get on with 247tvstream? Iíve been subscribing for a few years now and have been satisfied with the service, especially for F1, Moto GP, World Supers and British Superbikes. Iím a little luckier than most as Iíve fibre to the house rather than to the node most others have in the Ďlucky countryí.

Does anyone else think that Sauber should have a lot more red? It looks like a snowflake with a blood spot. At least have it painted red completely down the top-side to give it some visual aggression. Mostly white is too bland.

Totally agree but I think maybe Ferrari might have first dibs on red especially when they are supplying the engine.

True but they could change the shade for Alfa. RB and TR manage well enough with almost identical colour schemes.

I think they technically get around things by delaying the transmission of events by 30 seconds or so. So technically, youíre not getting live coverage. I pay a subscription fee so I assume itís above board.

If Alfa are moving into F1, how the hell are they going to cope with servicing?

Hamilton certainly lucked in. Ominous signs.. apart from Aus (where he was unlucky, but only lost 1 place) he hasnt really been firing on all cylinders, yet he now leads the championship.
Seb has found himself in the last 2 races losing a total of 9 places.

Hopefully it won't continue

Fezzas are still leading the Constructors (just). Long may that continue.

Pretty uneventful Canadian GP.. though happy with the result.

Not sure why Kimi couldnt press Hamilton more, especially as he had an issue (or so he said...!)

4th consecutive Q2 for Leclerc and again in the points with a P10 finish (started from P13).

What's even more interesting and an unbelievable stat: Leclerc already has 10 points in his career, while his teammate at Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team Marcus Ericsson has 11. The only difference is, Ericsson has been racing since 2014, Leclerc since 2018!
