Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

Great, so we have 5 already. Shame ARAF will only be there till thursday.

Timetable:
Saterday, 8.09.2007 : 17:30 - 19:30
Sunday, 9.09.2007 : 08:00 - 19:30
Monday, 10.09.2007 : 13:00 - 19:30

Should we already make reservations to sleep, shower and eat. It is Scuderia weekend so rooms will be a bit difficult to get.

Ringrooms (Kottenborn) is perhaps possible, but only if the group isn't to big.

Diana (Dottingen) has more rooms, but is usually pretty much filled around scuderia.

What do you think Peter?

Lets definitely get Ringrooms if we can! Fantastic value for such a nice place. But as you say, it might be too smal.. 8 persons was it? That Diana place sounds good too, i remember you mentioning it..

I will inform about the maximum number of rooms with Sonja. She can make some arrangements with neighbours also.

Diana is also a good option but might bu fully booked.

I will check them.

P.s. did you get your Wifi working?

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

Well done Robert! sounds like a good plan, especially if there are extra beds in the area around Ringrooms.

Never got Wifi working, but I am sure it was because of the old Laptop not being properly updated.. Will bring the new one next time and i am sure it will be fine.

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

Ringrooms has got 8 beds. (if nobody minds sleeping with someone else in the room)

They can make room for 2 extra beds so a total of 10 persons is possible. If needed she can possibly arrange 1 or 2 extra rooms with neighbours.

All rooms are still free from 8-10 sept. So I can make reservations.....

Me, Aernoudt and Peter are "green-light" for Ringrooms.

How about EA and FBS??

I'll be heading home on monday, so just two nights.

Perhaps somebody wants an extra night and leave tuesdaymorning?

Check: www.ringrooms.de

OK, thanks for the quick reply guys.

So I'll make reservations at Ringrooms for 3 rooms. (Peter, Aernoudt and myself) If the group increases we can always try and get more rooms and/or put more people in a room.

Aernoudt will stay one night (sunday-monday)
I will stay two nights (saturday/sunday + sunday/monday)

@Peter: how many nights will you stay?

Now let's get to work on our cars.

These dates are very tempting for me also, although it's too early for me to commit yet. I'm considering trying to do it on the cheap by camping, that way I can afford to buy more lap tickets .

Put me down as a definite maybe.

Great Joel! You company and car would certainly add to the fun! I was so pleased to find that i actually could fit inside an Elise I just have to own one at some time..Amazing handling!

BTW i saw the but just in case you are actually considering camping, i would think the rates where we are staying is probably not far off! 43 euro (i think) for a twin, 28 euro for a single incl. breakfast. It's all brand new and the owners are extremely nice.

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

hey fellas, this trip sounds great! i kept up to date on this months and i am very keen to go. trouble is, it appears you all have pretty high end alfa and i would feel like the runt of the litter with my lil old 146ti!!

I have been really keen on a long road trip and a few laps on the track would be amazing!!

tell me politely to sod off if you like otherwise any info(like cost of laps etc) would be most appreciated..... cheers.

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

Hi Malone. There is no car snobbery here, all that is required is enthusiasm. We had a 145qv in our group last week and it was certainly not out of place.

For general Nurburgring info I would suggest reading the official Nordschleife website and Ben Lovejoy's site, links below.

Cheers,
Joel.

Rubish. No matter what kind of Alfa. Just have fun in it. So you're more then welcome to join us.

Check the threads of previous Ring visits for more info.

And if you need more info, just ask.

Hope to meet you there in september.

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

Hi Malone,

ditto to anything the guys just said. As enthusuastic we are about our cars, there is absolutely no snobbery from what i've ever experienced on the trips i've done there. Your Ti and You will fit in don't worry about it. hope you can make it.

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

146ti is a fine car to go to the Ring for the first time actually; as it takes a while to get to know all turns at the Ring (certainly not on the first trip ), the power it has is more then sufficient for quite some while ! Actually: with a good suspension you could run it below 9 minutes BTG if you know the track well.

Looking forward to the Monday: not as busy as the Sunday... then add some rain showers and it will be perfect driving conditions for the Bimmer

Re: Nurburgring Sept. 8-9-10

I will probably be there on the Wednesday 6th and then again on Monday the 10th.

Hopefully will catch some of you on those dates.

Fingers crossed the car will be 2nd stage remap (275/450), and with the coilovers this time

Oh and "uncracked" discs

@malone - just go dude, look forward to meeting you and your 146.
