Bargain track day @ Donington, 29th October

I've just booked myself in for another track sesh, well it'd be rude not to at £99 for the day Be fun to see if I can keep my Evo-8-owning mate in sight for more than half a lap

More info can be found here, can I tempt anyone else?

I missed out on the AROC one so may do this instead as I really fancied a visit to this track in my car.

I'll have to check my finances but it shouldn't pose a problem depends on what gets picked up on my service Monday.

and quietly hide it till you need to use it and then say "oh, I've had this for ages".........

Trackday sounds good though, I'm tied on that day otherwise I think I'd come along.

Re: Bargain track day @ Donington, 29th October

Only just found the thread, and the track day is full.

If things go according to plan tomorrow, I might just have to pop up on Sunday. It would be rude not to bring a crash helmet with me, in case they have spare places.

Re: Bargain track day @ Donington, 29th October

Shame there were no more Alfas on track, it was a blinding day. I knew Donny was a fast track, but bloody hell, they're almost all full-bore 3rd & 4th gear corners
Nice to meet another AOer in the paddock, though I can't for the life of me remember your name, sorry! Me heads a bit mashed......

I think I did the badge proud though, beat off loads of MX5's, had a belting tussle with a ST170 Focus in most sessions, held off a 'Grale and a few Elises, and kept my mate in his Evo behind me He did clear off when I let him through (as he would with 320bhp!), but he did say I was holding some impressive corner speed

Now, before the next time, all I need is, say, about 30-40bhp, some brakes (again!), new rubber, uprated suspension, oh and some Anadin

Can't stop grinning

Once again, some choice cuts of footage willl be posted up in due course.

T'was I.
Probably my fault for approaching you just after you'd come off the track.
You certainly didn't shame the marque, and were circulating quite well from what I saw, not that I saw many bends, but you were keeping up with all except the M3CSL.

Shame I couldn't get on the track, but it was over-subscribed, and no one dropped out as the weather was glorious.

Re: Bargain track day @ Donington, 29th October

Next time eh?

That CSL was awesomely quick, my mate couldn't keep up with it in his Evo, I know they're fast but we reckon that one had been fettled a fair bit, it sounded unreal! And he was running proper slicks too, which will have helped a lot!

Re: Bargain track day @ Donington, 29th October

Ode,
I reckon that the CSL could have been fairly standard. The standard M3 can get a shift on, and removing weight from the vehicle is as effective as giving it a few more bhp.
As to the noise, they all do that on full throttle.

As to getting on the track next time, I'll make sure I keep an eye on this forum in future.
