Auto Italia Gaydon, Sept. 24th

Fellow Forumees (?), wondered how many of you out there attended last year's Autumn Auto Italia event at Gaydon? I've been a regular at the Brooklands events but was interested what the general opinion was of the Gaydon location and the day in general. Who's going, for starters? Weird though some of my fellow forum-dwellers clearly are, It might be very interesting to meet some of you.....!

I went last year and had a pretty good day, its a bit further than brooklands for me as I am in Dartford. Hope to make it again this year though.

Some pictures I took last year Clicky

If you haven't been to Gaydon, you should go, but personally, I prefer Brooklands.

Re: Auto Italia Gaydon, Sept. 24th

So, who's up for it? Personally, the biggest attraction for me personally is the promise of being able to drive on a high-speed test track. Behind a pace car. At 70 mph.

Still, weather's looking good, car's running well on a fresh tank of V-Power so if any of you are making the journey, I look forward to seeing you!

I'll look you out Bob and you can pretend I'm a friend! I'll actually be an 'exhibit' for the day - the lads from L & M have asked me to stick my car on their stand (cos it's got a few Novitec bits on it).

Guess who'll be carefully washing his car Sat eve?

Re: Auto Italia Gaydon, Sept. 24th

A number of us 155 owners are meeting up at Cherwell Valley (M40 J10) services at about 8.30am, prior to a brisk drive to Gaydon.

Any Alfa owner is more than welcome to join us.

There probably won't be any 33's there - so I might have to pretend I have a 155!

(Except I've just realised I'm going southbound to Gaydon on the M40! Oops!)

Autumn Italian Car Day is always a heady spectacle of Italian metal, enjoying a late chance to be out and about before winter closes in.

On Sunday September 24th,

I'll be up there too, Wide Boy - I'm always on the look-out for the GTA brigade at these things as they're my 18 year old son's favourite car. He tells me, regularly, that I have the Grandad version....

Re: Auto Italia Gaydon, Sept. 24th

alfaholic, yes the weather was a downer, clear blue skies and way too hot, the sun relecting off the cars made it difficult to get any decent pics

seriously though it was ****ing it down here in northampton when i got up, i wasnt going to go but i thought as its only 40 min from me, ill go and see what the weather was like there, it was sunny about 5 miles out from northampton and just got hotter, cracking day loads of lancias, ferraris, lambos and a big alfa turnout, well organised
