Hi Gary,

Again, I'm gonna try to be there. No other commitments on saturday (so no alcohol to spoil the fun) and if burglers would like to skip my house this time, I'll try and make my first lap at around 08.10 sundaymorning.

And if your gearbox holds up, we can finally do the tandem lap.

Re: Nurburgring 21st-24th July

Hi guezen.

I have to get the gearbox fitted first. With a bit of luck I will be lapping by saturday afternoon but its very much a fingers crossed affair.

If not and you are there whats my chances of a passenger lap?

Hi Gary,

What are your chances of a pax lap?
If I''m there and you're there, I'd say about 100%.

I have a BBQ visit late afternoon on saturday. So I should be in bed in time for an early departure on sundaymorning. Don't really like the expected temperatures on sunday, have to keep it slow and have lots to drink.

Hope to see you on sunday....

Good luck with the gearbox, are you able to do any of the work yourself?

Robert, with all this training for the next big AO ring trip.
we will have to watch you carefully next time I think!

I'm getting my laps in allright. But I feel I'm still learning the specific parts of the track and especially learning how my GTA reacts in different track and weather conditions. The little "tail wiggle" moment at Hatzenbach a couple of weeks ago, was the first time I felt I had lost control.

But I know where I am and know what's coming. So I'm having fun. And with my own and my GTA's safety in mind, I usually have a ball. That's what counts.

And, already looking forward to the next AO Ring trip. OFCOURSE !!!
Would be nice to meet you guys again....

Hi Gary, track shots are always welcome. Video would be even better.

How will I recognize you if the "ring-pug" is still stuck in first gear?

Or PM me you mobile number so I can contact you.....

Re: Nurburgring 21st-24th July

Hi,

I think I cannot join the trip. Current I have some problems with the electronic
The on-board computer shows me some different errors:

"error ABS, error VDC, error EBD, error engine monitoring system and error immobiliser system"

I read out the error memory before I will drive anywhere.

Ciao,
Lars

Hi Lars,

Can't believe all those systems are faulty at the same time, so I think it's a typical Alfa electronics bug.

I remember driving away from the dyno machine after a test. All systems where faulty also, everything beeped and flashed. Looked like VDC couldn't understand doing 200 kph with only the front wheels turning and without getting anywhere. After a short normal drive the alarms dissapeared.

Hope your problems will be sorted and perhaps we will see you at the ring.

guezen,

You have private mail with my phone number.

If i'm not in the 205 I will be driving my friends dakar yellow E36 M3. It has a northloop sticker on the window. Either that or the black northloop Porsche 944 turbo.

Look forward to hopefully meeting you.

Sorry to hear that Lars. Didn't spot you at the parking so I figured there were problems. Hope she gets well soon.

Just got back from a great visit. Finally met with Gary and Dave and the others from Northloop.

Was there around 8 in the morning. Did two early laps, one dry and one mildly moist with very wet conditions in some parts (lost it a bit at Hatzenbach and later at Brunchen).

Caught up with Gary and Dave in the parking. Had a chat and a drink. Went out for a tandem lap with "The Pug" with Dave as a passenger in the GTA. Great fun!!!

We finally did it.

Great day!!!

P.s. Thanks again Gary and Dave. Very GOOD people...
