Well Happy Track Day at curborough sprint track 2006

As some of you know, I am an active metro club Admin, and often organise events and track days....
I am looking at organising a Alfa Romeo vs Rover metro track day at Curborough sprint track in Litchfield (which is in the midlands) sometime around Feb, March 2006.. It is quite a small track with lap times around 35 to 40 seconds... We get full use of the track without any other cars. We usually run 1 car at a time, but at the end of the day we have some head to head stuff, and cat and mouse etc etc..
I get the track for the whole day 9AM until 5PM with an hour dinner at 1pm which we have to stick to. looking at having just 10 cars (5 metros and 5 Alfa's) at a cost (which i will have to confirm if there is enough interest) of 40 for the day including a light buffet which i supply at my own expence (so dont expect loads lol). Spectarors are welcome as long as i know how many are coming and are free to go passenger as much as they like. Safety equipment is not compulsary but recomend a helmet. There is also no insurance cover so if you want this you have to get your own.. Will put up all the details if there is enough interest from you guys n girls. These track days are on a weekday so would require a day off work for most i guess... I usually do this on a first come first serve basis.. i the interest is high then i will think about sorting some more out.. Feel free to ask anything i may of missed.

Sounds good to me, can I wear "L" plates as I have just swopped the 147 1.9 MJet for a 147 GTA - I also need a bigger undies drawer.

Nope no scrutineering lol

will be sorting this event out this week .. hoping for a date towards the end of march

there will be 6 places up for grabs, and it will be first come first served.

Will post ALL the details as soon as i have them.

6 Alfa's vs 6 Rover metro's ( who wants to start a book lol)
Spectator's will be welcome, but i will need to know that you are coming to give actual numbers... Passenger rides are also fine.
Any questions feel free to ask

Re: Track Day at curborough sprint track 2006

Hmmm, lightweight modified shortwheelbase rovers against lardy alfas I think we know who will take it on a sprint course and it probably won't be Italian unless someone on here has prepped one for racing.

at present I think I have 3 and 3 filled but that includes you... I dont count them as gone till cash/cheque received because I have done these events for the last two years...and I pay up front and then get the cash back... I have ended up filling one on the day which was disapointing.

So far got plenty of interet on both sides.. if there is an odd number I have one of each cars, so can go on either ... hehe ( or will have a new metro soon anyway)

Re: Track Day at curborough sprint track 2006

PM sent, can't really confirm my attendance until nearer the time but happy to pay for a spot as I can't see there would be too much of an issue.

Re: Track Day at curborough sprint track 2006

It's shaping up nicely now... trying to convince one the metro members that he is okay to bring his 1.1 as its not about that...
And I realised I have no idea of what cars people are intending to bring.
I have my eye on a 155 v6 alfa wide body thingy... as I like old skool but I am also torn towards a nice vvc metro and cant get both...

I will be sending people a receipt, letter of confirmation and a information pack ( okay not loads in it).

I think I now have 5 alfa names and one paid and 4 metro names and 2 paid ( although got 2 of em popping over this weekend)
