Scottish Alfa meet 2003.... who's up for it?

as above

time for another one methinks.

question is... where we gonna have it?
might try and run same meet as last year's one... which was at Perth.. then for a run up through Crief, Killin, then back via A9? Then have some pub-grub somewhere. That was the origional plan from last year's... but delays means we didn't have enough time for it really.

Or maybe a run down near the borders? Or about fife ending at ST.Andrews?
Suggestions please.

I do like the Killin route as there is some stunning scenery and roads to blat around.

The register for interest starts here!

Also what dates should we be lookin at for this run. sometime in June? Possibly?

C'mon guys.. need some input in feedback to interest levels.

Me and the wife would be up for that. I like the Killin run too. https://www.alfaowner.com/forum/ubb/icons/icon01.gif

She works every second weekend. In June she is off the weekends of the 7& 8th and 21st & 22nd, so either of those would be https://www.alfaowner.com/forum/ubb/icons/icon9.gif

Beginning of July would be better for me (maybe the first weekend as Colins wife will be off).
The Killin route would be good as long as it don't take too many hours !!!

I'm more used to the car and handling now so I might be able to keep up a bit better than last time

i'm getting married near the start of july then away on honeymoon for most of it... kinda rules out july for me

I like either of the two dates colin suggested.. the earlier one would be preferable for me. (7th/8th June) If not.. then maybe August? comments please?

The Killin route planned should take about 2 and a half hrs methinks. Maybe a wee bit less. This ok? Maybe stop in killin for lunch?/pictures? or back to perth for that?

Next question... Saturday or Sunday? Sunday might be better for quietness? but will be more likely to be full of slow old biddies (will that be a problem )

answers on a postcard to the usual address.

Guys,
7/8 or 21/22 June are fine for me.
Early August is also ok as long as its before the 20th, as im off to sunny Cyprus for 2 weeks (woohoo!).
Might even have my brakes fixed by then...
And my wishbones...
And...
Plans sound good too - windy roads & food.

OK, any of the dates in June would be fine.

We could turn it into J's Stag Drive, you know, de-breek him and tie him to a tree along route with his bus money home taped to his willy.
Honkytonk can do the taping seeing as it's his bro !!!

Or put L-plates on his car, you might not know the difference (joking matey wink ).

I think saturday would be better, I don't know why but I'm awkward so will pick the opposite of everyone else

My mate might come as a passenger with his digi-camcorder stuff. Might get some nice footage of J naked and tied to a tree.... wink

He wants to make a video for some music he has and idealy wanted a seat in a car at Knockhill, but this'll be just as fun.

Sounds good. Scottish borders have some excellent roads but theres too many speed cameras/trucks/tourists so the extra distance for those of us south of the border should be worth it.

Unfortunately it isn't near the borders.

We'll be starting off at Perth, heading through crieff and along to killin, then back around prolly via a bit of A9 to perth.

Looking to possibly stop for food in killin.

what happens after getting back to perth is anybody's guess - prolly a race down the motaway for the fifers

This would be a good chance to get pictures of our beloved cars and if the weathers good there will be some stunning scenery!

any more takers?

My cars had its yearly clean and hoover last weekend - so its looking nice for a change. Brakes have nearly worn in too - 'lard pads on black ice discs' is heading towards normal brakes. Should be a good laugh. Now if the triple turbo on 19's conversion is just done in time...
