Alfa South Africa at Kyalami
On Saturday 23 April Alfa Romeo South Africa is hosting an event at the Kyalami racetrack in Midrand, South Africa. Said to be the biggest Alfa event ever in ZA history, it will feature new and old cars, and all Alfa clubs are invited to attend.
Several Alfa Romeo dealerships are also involved in the event.
Entrance to the racetrack is free, as long as you come in an Alfa Romeo.
Two "open" sessions will be held during the course of the day, during which you can take your car on the racetrack for a session. Bring a helmet and wear long sleeves for this.
The Alfa Squadra Corse racing team will have all three the 147 GTA cars on show and will do an exhibition run (or two).
At lunch time a procession will be held on the track, with alfas from old to new (in that order) will drive around the track in a procession. Leading this will be a 1929 Alfa 1750 6C.
Other older cars featured will be a 1965 Alfa Giulia GTA amongst others.
If you have more than one Alfa, try to find a way to get all your cars there, as a record could be set.
Television coverage is a distinct possibility.
