How long will the session go on for?
Unfortunately, I've got East Fortune the next day and I'm not made of money - but I am daft

Re: Knockhill Track Night

Normally finishes at 8 o'clock. But it might finish earlier if someone ends up in the gravel
Is the East Fortune an Alfa thing too ????

I hope the AROCS website is up to date

Crazed Re: Knockhill Track Night

Is there any gravel at Knockhill? Not sure I've found any- perhaps I'll have another look!
Yeh, the East Fortune is AROCSS! All welcome. Got stuff from a Cinq, poss. AXGT right up to a Tiv (the one that I still found gravel in last week when servicing it! and a Noble M12 (TBC)!
A few Alfas as well!

Re: Knockhill Track Night

Great stuff Neil. I was gonna pop along and see you about it. I've emailed the AROCS to see if ut is still on. They have no mention of the East Fortune meet, only this Knockhill one. I'm wondering if they've changed venues etc and not updated the "meetings" section of their website

Thumbs Up Re: Knockhill Track Night

East Fortune has not been updated in the "alfascot.com" website!! I can't believe it!

For further info visit http://www.javelin-motorsport.co.uk/...trackdays.html

Bookings through AROCSS will cost 100 not the 150 Javelin advertise. There is still definitely room for more cars. Contact Colin Beveridge 01738 560 085 for further info and booking- there is still time. I still think that arrive and drive would be ok, but lids may be at a premium.

East Fortune is slightly longer (I think) than KH and wider as well. All the corners where tyre scribbing is likely have been relaid in smooth asphalt. Some of the straights are still concrete, but not really any worse than some B class road surfaces.

The track is quite flat and less technical than Knockhill, so should be good for the less experienced. There will be a novice session and some sort of instruction/guidance will be available if needed.

Due to the long straights which are connected by a slight kink, significantly higher speeds will be obtained than the 90mph which is available at KH.

Track time is 10-4. Depending on numbers, there is talk of running an open pit, but otherwise, it will be split into 3*20min sessions every hour.

I have driven it for the reccy, and it should be quite good fun. Perhaps on a par with KH, but way better than what was Ingleston. It is worth supporting because it is the first time a car track day will be run at this event and a little competition for KH is no bad thing.

Even if people can just spectate, it would be good to raise awareness and have some other opinions to see if it would be worthwhile running this event again, or just sticking with KH.

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Drive sideways- life's too short not to

Slip-sliding my way through winter. On four wheels and two.

Re: Knockhill Track Night

Still dunno if the Knockhill meet is on though. The guy hasn't got back to me
100 is too much dosh for me at the moment, plus my car might not last as I haven't sorted the brakes properly yet etc etc.....

Re: Knockhill Track Night

KNOCKHILL IS CANCELLED.

I phoned the track to find out. So....NEVER TRUST THE AROCS MEETINGS SECTION OF THEIR WEBSITE .

Pity, was looking forward to giving the V6 a spin.
Can you pay for East Fortune with a credit card ???

Exactly which website is the AROC meet on? I'm obviously interested to know as there is a problem here which needs sorting...
Dunno about the credit card payment, but I'll try to find out...

Re: Knockhill Track Night

Never mind, we'll just have to get a Scottish 155 Meet then
I'm not going to East Fortune, too much money at the moment and I'm not sure how strong the V6 is yet. Knowing my luck it'd explode

Moaning Re: Knockhill Track Night

Shame- but there's a lesson to be learned in this. If it runs again, it will be better advertised and correctly at that.

East Fortune was AMAZING. The 155 was incredibly stable.... had a little oversteer AND even oppostite lock with over 85mph showing on speedo .. totally controllable and smooth...even reeled in an Integrale!!
Sister's AXGT (tuned and setup by myself) embaressed an S4 amongst others...

75TS was simply awesome, simply unable to loose this car. THE best car I've ever driven. What a hoot and so underrated. So capable and yet I didn't even try balls out- it will forever be my baby... You just know when your doing it right in a 75.. so rewarding it takes driving into another plane

Drove the TVR Chimaera 450 again... Noble M12M- no problem for the Chim!! Loved this experience, but had to work VERY hard to achieve it... before spinning Still, no gravel this time

Had a good bunch of drivers. All were good mannered and attentive. We were actually ONCE AGAIN commended about the general standard!! even though I was there It was a fantastic fun day and really worth the 100. Not a technical track, but one that still required precision to get the best from it. Unfortunately, I underrated it and it took me far too long to become accustomed to it. I will learn from my mistakes....
