Crazed Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

**********************
Attention all Irish Alfa owners.
**********************

Summer is upon us, and we preferably need to arrange a meet before the end of August.
I need proposals on where & when, how many & proposed advertising of a meet.

Some options available are:
Phoenix Park Motor Races (17th July)
Mondello Park track day (TOAD?)
Red Cow (??)

Please post feedback/ideas here for review.

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

Track Day info ....

Monday 2nd August - International Circuit

All our days are spilt into two halves, a morning and an afternoon.
The morning runs from 10 - 1p.m. with the afternoon running from 2 - 6 p.m.
Participants have the option of attending either half or can attend the full day if they wish.
Sign on is at 9.00a.m. sharp for the morning and 1.00p.m. sharp for the afternoon session.

Prices Morning/Afternoon/Full Day

International Circuit

150 / 200 / 300

~~ PRE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL ~~

as are good brakes, tires and driving skill.
I'll see if I can organise our own session (Alfa's only or at least Italian only ) and maybe a discount.
Although the August track day is popular.
And of course I'll be on hand if anyone want's some instruction or tips

2x 145, 4x 75, 4x Sprints,a 156, 146 now a 155

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

Toad thanks for the info, but just to have it said, I'm not 100% keen on track days for the reason that most of us use our cars for day-to-day running and are not going to commit them to track use, even if it's not hard driving.
While I'm not in any way ruling it out, lets wait for other ideas too.

As a matter of interest, who would be willing to run an Alfa on a track day?

Thanks for your feedback!

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

There's also a classic car show in Terenure college on the 11th of july. Another option for us. Either that or just meet up in a pub car park somewhere sometime.

Err... perhaps not then

There is a Northern Ireland Italian Motor Club at http://www.niimc.co.uk , I'll ask if they fancy a twin meet.

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

Hey Toad, considering the fact that between the two of us we seemingly have the most Alfa's in Dublin, can we hold it in the car-park of the Playwrite pub??? It's 300m from your door, and 400m from mine! We can do burns and slides in the estate...

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

I prolly would not run at a track day. I would love to. But tyres, brakes, etc. I need my car on a daily basis. Now if someone had a car that they could maybe give us a run in, for an appropriate fee......
Phoenix Park Races sounds good to me. I'm easy though.

Playwrite would be cool for me to go to. UCD is also good for burning and sliding, as I found out this morning. Nice wet roads, lots of fun.

It says 11am kick-off there. Blessington sounds cool too. I take it I can get the info from the jag club website for that meet.

Re: Irish Alfa Meet - Decisions...

In discussion with Toad, I decided to put this out to the crowd...

Proposal is: To arrange a track-day of sorts in Mondello pk in Aug.
  • Those wishing to actively get out on track, arrive for the morning session.
  • Those not wishing to get on track, arrive around 11:30 to watch a few laps and then have the meet after lunch/bbq/pub...

Invites shall also be sent to the NI Italian Car Owners Club, and other clubs with an afflation to Alfas are welcome to attend.

Maybe we should put this to a poll?

Yup, sounds good to me. Are there many Fiat/Lancia clubs around the place?

Just after e-mailing a Lancia club in the UK to see if they could supply details of any clubs in Ireland.

Still feel a bit worn out after it though, think I better take a lie down.
Let this be a lesson, random acts of proactivity should be preceeded by a good stretch.
