Re: Peak Alfa Drive - 23rd May 2004

yup, it will be Tulips and questions, same as last year.

Tony, tulips are little diagrams which show you the way to go...or not!

They show a line where you've come from and an arrow to where you need to go and its usually a drawing of the junction you're approaching...dead easy but you'll need a navigator to help with the clues and map.

If anyone is interested please complete the application thingy on the Derbyshire webiste and get it to me asap...ta

Is a Nav a pre requisite or can you go solo,I don't trust ANYONE to navigate while i'm driving,i'm a one man mission whilst behind the wheel

You make that word "alone" seem so sad and pathetic and like i have no friends

And you'd be right of course

Unfortunately thats BTCC day at Oulton Park.....

This is a pilgramage for me (I've been for the past 10 years), and it's a good day out.

I was going to suggest people attempting to meet there....

Simon.

Hi guys...I'm a former 155 driver (if anyone sees R889 CHT please give her a hug for me) so does that mean I'm still qualified to join you on the 23rd? Been to the last couple of Peak Alfa events and enjoyed myself.

Re: Peak Alfa Drive - 23rd May 2004

Last call for the Peak Alfa Drive.............here's some directions or stick the postcode in some route type software/website,

The Chesterfield Hotel
Malkin Street, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S41 7UA
By Road-
Leave the M1 Motorway at Junction 29 and follow the A617 dual carriageway to the outskirts of Chesterfield town centre. Take the 2nd exit from the roundabout at the end of this road, and follow the signs firstly for the town centre and then those for the railway station. The hotel is to be found on the right hand side opposite the access road to the railway station. There is ample free car parking opposite the main entrance.

Cya there

Re: Peak Alfa Drive - 23rd May 2004

Wrinx,

Not sure I'll be able to make this, I've got an all day drinkathon tommorrow. But if I get up with a clear head in time, I'll try and get down to the Hotel. Is there a convoy/drive out like last year or just the tulip rally as I don't think I could manage that on me own.

Re: Peak Alfa Drive - 23rd May 2004

No worries Nick, be good to see you there though This is just a Tulip and meal after. There are a few people just coming along for the ride and will probably follow another car so you could still do it....if you head is clear

Re: Peak Alfa Drive - 23rd May 2004

Just wanted to Cheers to Wrinx for organising this again Was a good day lots of fun driving round the country roads and lots of sun tooo

So where`s the pics you took Wrinx old chap and did your Paper number plates stay on

We had a lot of fun chasing the others then passing them shot past a Spider then tailed a 156 for a bit til they made a wrong turn then played tag with a 147 GTA til they went wrong What i liked was when he floored it to pull away i managed to stick with him and yes he was trying to get away you could tell by the amount of Torque steer he had

It was also to talk to some of the other drivers who said they were envious due to the fact i had a 155 and they didnt

We even won a prize for completeing the Tulip in the fastest time well i`m not called Speedy for nothing
