Nurburgring Trip

Planning a trip to the ring in March/April. Who would be interested in going?

Re: Nurburgring Trip

After doing a lap there in December I'm totally hooked.

Need to get my car to neds to get some new brakes. Then we are going to be ready to roll

Dates are flexible. March or April really. We shouldnt go at easter because it's stupid busy.

Forza 2 for me. I uploaded the video on youtube last night of my lap 2 weeks ago but it's too long apparently.

I will redo it tonight.

On GT4 you have a good selection of Alfa's, 147 GTa included 366 bhp etc, Go get them Bimmer's Tiger!

Not at the circuit itself. Somewhere in Adenau might do it, but it's not required to wear a helmet although it is advised, especially if you are going to be driving in a spirited fashion.

I would potentially be up for going, had awesome fun last time...

Re: Nurburgring Trip

had a massive discussion with people about helmets on another site.. Concluded that if you wear one, you will drive faster! However, the counter was that if someone else hits you, you are at a higher risk.

We will be going when it is less busy, so the risk is less.

However, I would probably advise people to wear one as 80% of the deaths at the ring are caused by head injuries!

I didn't wear one when I went.

As I drive a convertible, it is required on UK tracks to wear a helmet, im assuming its the same for the ring? Even if it isnt, I would be weary of not wearing one as Im quite sure that 3 inches of fabric above my head will not help in a crash! I dont fancy ending up in hospital from another head injury...

No. The Nurburgring Nordschleife is a derestricted one-way public toll road, not a track.

As I said though, it would be wise to wear one. I did and I would do again.
