Help It's that time of year already ....Who is currently top dog for cheap quotes?

Currently with Admiral and awaiting new multi-car quote. 2 cars , my 06 GT1.9Jtdm and my wife's 54 Punto 1.2 .....both bog standard expect a declared diesel tuner in the GT (set to fuel saver mode and not boy racer mode). I have maximum NCB and my wife has almost 5 yrs. Currently paying 600 for both...I'm 51 and my wife is 49. I do 15k a year and my wife does about 2k.

These 2 are on my hit list ........will probably do a compare thingy....

1.Aviva
2.Quote Me Happy

Suggestions welcome ...........Cheers

Quotemehappy is a subsidary of Aviva but doesn't do multicar. They were much cheaper than my Aviva multicar renewal but Aviva were prepared to come part way to matching them.

Don't just think of the initial premium price. Think of how you'll be dealt with if things go wrong

How can you foresee that?

Everyone's circumstances make for different companies being cheaper for some and not for others. I just do spend a day on the search companies websites, but sometimes it's also worth giving your local broker a call. They can do the legwork on a claim for you, if necessary.

Do your homework. Read surveys on how well companies deal with claims etc.

Brokers are fine but most are now tied in to a group of companies under one larger company umbrella. This is true of some advertising on here. Not necessarily a bad thing, or a good thing.....

That's why I stuck with Aviva rather than diving in at the bottom. But I was not prepared to pay a 114 premium for Aviva over one of their own for the sake of asking. Clearly the renewal premiums contain a "suckers" markup which can be removed without too much hassle if the customer asks.
