Insurance

Just wondering which insurance you guys recommend. I have phoned up Adrian flux and have been quoted £530 cheapest. Peter best said they don't insure ungaraged cars. Anywhere else? I tried confused and go compare and cheapest was I think about 800!

My rx8 is with esure which I am paying £550 for with 5 years NCB. Unfortunately, I got 3 points within the last 6 months so I am back up to 3 from a clean sheet again and esure are wanting £600 this year lol. I will phone other companies to check with them

With regards to club discounts, do I need to pay to join it? Because when peter best asked me about it, I just said I am a member of the owners club forum and they said it don't count

Does the type of penalty u get actually vary the insurance quotes signifncantly ? I mean SP50 vs SP30 ?

You'd need to be a paid member of AROC - AO.com doesn't count for any discount. (well, not that I've come across anyway). There maybe affiliate insurers on the site here - I think Sky insurance is one of them - I think there is a sticky somewhere on here for insurers recommended.

Sorry, I'm not sure, but they obviously don't regard SP30's as important.

Just phoned up Classic Car and they are very good. Offered me a fully comprehensive insurance for £466! Bargain I think. Includes breakdown cover (I think I will need it lol). And excess of only £250. 5000 mile declared, going to be commuting and social use and £1500 value I put it down as.

Insurance company was Equity Red Star

Never phone anyone. do it all online. Mine was through compare the mkt.
They obviously didn't like what they heard for some reason...how old are you? 17/18?
Oh! I've just seen where you are...a bit of a difference from leafy Suffolk to Castlemilk or wherever.

Got mine with Admiral. Multi car (GTV v6 and Ford Mondeo) policy worked out much cheaper than other insurers. I'm 27 with one SP30 on my licence. First quote they gave me was £1,290 for the pair. After telling them that was nowhere near where it should be, they dropped the quote to £950 for the two! So worked out well worth picking up the phone for me!

£350 / annually to be paid monthly for an 03 v6 and I'm 39. £30 or so less if paid in a lump and the car is garaged.
