The BBC reported that Admiral have started imposing this on their customers as detailed below

I'd like to know how the forum insurers feel about this practise and if they think it is warranted.

When you fill in insurance forms they don't ask if you have been on a course, just what points you have. In general they don't seem to bother about 3 speeding points anyway.
Just more journalistic ****** on a slow news day. The Express had the headline "coldest winter for 100 years on its way" . Nuff said.
