1.13 at the supermarkets, 1.17-19 everywhere else, with the exception of the one near my house which has just dropped its prices from a ludicrous 1.35 to 1.30 and put a BFO flag thing in front of the sign.

1.229 for Diesel round my way, definitely feeling the benefit of the dropping prices... I had originally budgetted for 1.369 per litre

1.19 for diesel and 1.16 for petrol around Saltash. Regularly being dropping from a peak of 1.35 during the last 3 months or so, sometimes diesel has even been cheaper than petrol! I use an App to check best prices.

Don't worry, in the new year when new marine emissions limits come into play the price of everything imported by sea freight will go up to counter this windfall on fuel.

Waitrose (Shell) in Salisbury 112.9 unleaded 119.9 Diesel. Both dropped a penny since yesterday. Need to fill up the GTA and just may have the range to make the 8 miles

Was that before or after they dispensed with the man and his red flag?

Diesel is cheaper than petrol here and fuel is a bit cheaper in general than in the UK. On the other hand it does cost €710 (557) to tax each of my cars per year.

Assuming the eqivalent UK tax is 120; 10,000 miles per year and 50mpg then the extra tax is about 48p per litre so over all Eire would seem more expensive.

I do wish Governments would put all the tax on the fuel and not on the vehicle. That way the heaviest users of the roads pay the greater cost.

I think it's fair to say that every car enthusiast in Ireland is thoroughly disgusted by our current taxation scheme. To give another example, a V6 would cost 1400 per year.

Bet it does not bother the rule makers in their gas guzzling/paid for with expenses/tax payer provided limousines.
