Another holiday, another Charger!

Having had fun last year in a bog-standard V6 Dodge Charger I was happy to see "Dodge CHRT" as my allocated vehicle on the Avis app. After pondering for a few minutes I realised the significance of the RT...yes, it's an R/T.

For those unfamiliar with Mopar terminology, R/T means it's got the 5.7 liter, 370 bhp Hemi V8!

25% or so more power than the V6, an immeasurable increase in sheer, unadulterated aural pleasure!

I thought youíd rented an electric car which needed a charger. Instead you rented an agricultural coupe! The Charger was supposed to be replaced by something based on the Giorgio platform like the Giulia.

Agricultural, yes, but coupe, no. Charger is the four-door sedan - the coupe is the Challenger.

Compared to previous Avis group G (premium) cars I've driven, Taurus & Impala, the Charger has something of a downmarket feel, but it's the only one with rear wheel drive & has by far the best transmission, the 8-speed ZF. (The V6 Charger is Avis group F, full size.)

Another holiday, another Charger!

Another holiday, another Charger! Another problem.

Hope that vehicle is the one you get, 50% of the time I’ve never got what I’ve ordered.

When we, as a family of six, a couple of years ago complained about the van we were allocated we were given a dozen sets of keys and pointed towards a row of vans to pick our own.

Happy Hols.

Today my wife said to me "you're just a big kid, aren't you?". Women don't understand what tunnels are for!

I wonder why they made the Charger a 4dr, it was always a Coupe historically wasn't it?
