Weekend insurance

Anyone know if it's possible to get weekend-only insurance? There's a GTV V6 for sale near me which I could afford to buy, but not run or insure as an every-day car - plus I've only just got the GT, which covers my day-to-day work needs more than adequately :)

Just got a desire for an Alfa V6 which I can't shake.....

You could also try Direct Line, I think they will now insure two cars on one policy so you can use your NCD on both - may work out cheaper

Yes and I've used it on a few occasions.

You could try "limited mile" insurance, although I'm not sure of the lowest amount of miles you can get cover for.

Damnit, it's metallic grey and it's just SITTING there at a local dealer!!! No-one's bought it yet. 103k on the clock, full Alfa service history, one owner, cambelt changes observed - but then there's another coming up at 108k, isn't there?

I think I'll have to keep my sensible cap on and leave it for now. If there's no-one that does insurance that's only valid at the weekend then I think they're missing a treat. There must be plenty of people out there who either just don't drive Monday-Friday, or who have a special car for the weekends, like a Caterham, or some other track/kit car, or an Alfa V6.....

Thanks for all the suggestions though, everyone :)

BUY the GTV V6,! BUY BUY BUY! and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I see many people driving flash cars i.e. porshe box's, honda s2000 etc...and every now and again i see someone driving a GTV V6, i always try to get a note from the engine! They always seem to have a smile on their face, and they look more of a man! I GTV is a mans car!

Plus there fukin fast, smooooth oh and just look at the front!

Did i mention i have a soft spot for the GTV V6! You may have read my post about the M6! Well i loved the M6, i still do! If i had to choose between a GTV cup and a M6, id only choose the M6 as it was more expensive, oh and its a V10, but thats it! Looks hands down the GTV wins! The engine even looks better then the M6

Just go and buy it! You only live life once! Test drive it! That will make your mind up

You're preaching to the converted, really! But I've got to watch the pennies at the moment :(

Have you tried to get a limited mileage policy rather than weekend only? That's what I use on my RX7, that way you can take it to work occasionally, and use it as a back up if your main car needs some work... I used A-plan, found them very helpful, and talking to enthusiasts rather than computer operators :)
