I've heard people have mixed feelings about these Warranties. For example, if you take your car in for a service, and they discover that some part is about to break (but hasn't technically broken yet), then replacing the part will not be covered by the warranty. So you have to wait until it actually breaks, potentially causing much bigger damage, before you have it replaced under warranty.
Also these warranties don't usually cover wear-and-tear parts and there may be differences of opinion which parts are considered wear-and-tear. For example, are the gears in a gearbox wear-and-tear?
