Has ANYONE solved the cup holder problem?

The 156 doesn't have a cup holder... no-where to balance a coffee or can of drink, the only place I can is between the speedo and rev counter dials when stationary, but steams up the front glass. You can stick one under the handbrake but forget and drive off and you get a trapped hand!

Ive bought all manner of stick on cup holders, but with the curvy interior, they end up horizontal!
The clip on ones for the heating vents, again useless for the little vents! Had one of the door, but its too close to me or too far away if on the passenger door.

Has ANYONE solved this issue? The 147 put one in the dash, great, but don't go over a speed bump = dash electrics soak!

The 156's competition
Volvo S60
Saab 93
Audi A4
BMW 3Series
Mercedes C Class
MG ZT

All the above have 2 or more holders, 3 series and MG certainly sporty saloons - RS4, M3 have them, we all need a pit stop.

appalling really, a 2004 car cant keep up with 1 gadget

The 159 isnt much better tho, it only has 1 and its quite small and gets in the way of gear changes

Wot, no where to put the coke or redbull on a roadtrip!?!

Brera rear side holders where very useful and also out-of-the-way.

As was the can chiller in the armrest*.

*Same as for the 159

147 has two. One is under the armrest, the other as a popout thing on the centre stack. However, the size leaves a lot to be desired.... neither are small enough to hold a takeaway espresso.

I thought I'd miss the lack of cup holders but I don't, if I'm going on a long journey, so long that I'll need a drink, I'll get out and stretch my legs as well. I find it also keeps the car tidier as passengers are less likely to eat if they've no where to put their drink

Cup holder in a 156? It's like suggesting a lingerie model wears "sensible pants".......

I think it was Walter De Silva who asked why anyone would want to drink in a 156 when they could sit outside coffee shop and look at it?

The only solution is to wait until you get there and enjoy a stretch and a drink.

"is that... FRESHLY GROUND coffee I smell?!"

"Sure is buddy!, Ive had the coffee scented cockpit pack fitted just this morning, thanks to the innovative clutter free Cup holder free design, now with 3rd party cup holder protection and a leather seat stickiness you cannot get anywhere else! This is no ordinary car, this is an Alfa!"
