Headlight masks for pre-facelift 156. Would you?

I collect my red 156 SW 2.4JTD next week, and it's a 2003 pre-facelift model, but with genuine 60k on the clock. I prefer the front on the facelift models like my wife's, but the mileage on mine made the decision for me.

I just want to sharpen the front up a bit, and noticed these on the bay:-

I like them, and will probably go for it, unless there's better out there?

Appreciate your opinion. I'm not 100% convinced myself, and I'm also looking at the brows.

IMHO it looks like cheap wannabe tuning

unfortunately I can't recommend you anything better but in general anything added to cars looks like an afterthough. The original is almost always better.

Thanks for all your opinions, and I will re-think what I'm going to do. I'm used to modding old'ish Volvos, but maybe I need a different approach with my Alfa................

If you do that to your car, post a photo here. I will then post it on Barryboys.... :-)

It has to be said, apart from the GTA "extras", there isn't a lot that improves on a 156.

Agree with the other comments, Mark.......if you want to spend the best part of 40 (plus painting) to make your car look worse, I'm sure I can do something to it for less than that! (And 156 lights are poor enough without sticking a lump of plastic in front of them )

I'm not going to take you up on your offer of making the car look worse for less than 40 thanks! I'm just used to modding all my cars, but this one is to save me money on my high mileage mainly, but I would like to mod it a bit as well. This is my modded 16 year old Volvo:-

People do do the "GTA" mod by taking off the lens and fitting an internal mask, of course. I've got plenty of 156 lamps if you want to have a play at doing that instead.......

Like rgwm says, there are threads in the 147/156 lounge to do the GTA headlight mod.

I don't like the ebay kit you posted ..........but if you want to change its look, how about some flyeyes. Its a honeycomb film that goes over the lights and makes them look a bit darker.

They are horrible.

The best way to make the 156 lights look better is to remove them from the car, seperate the front from the back and paint all of the silver parts apart from the light reflectors black.

They then look like GTA headlights.

Those light covers looks similar to the ones they used to fit to old Ford Sierras and Vauxhall Nova's

Oh well, at least it's an easily reversible mod if I decide against them.

Sorry, Mark, I think those you've ordered look really cheap and nasty........I told you I could make your car look worse for cheaper than that....

Still, your car, your choice........just park it nose-in at any meets, eh?

Lol, yeah, park the front against a wall or something. I'll know straight away when they arrive, if I like them or not. If I don't like them, who'd like to buy them?
