Sad isn't it. The GTA arrives later..... We want to do better product lifecycle management...... Oh well.

"“We want to keep the 159 volume stable at over 110,000 units a year as long as possible by using an aggres- sive product life cycle manage- ment,” Kalbfell said."
So , they intended to do regular facelifts but the volumes could not justify them?

156 sold well for its first three full years, then slumped badly as Alfa failed to bring on new options like the Germans do well, keeping it on the market for 8 years - longer than the German rivals.

159 story is much the same but without the GTA ever arriving and no replacement actually in place after 8 years. Progress eh?

I would have thought in all mainland Europe as well. Certainly in Germany. I have a 159 price list from 2008-07 with that option and I had a Brera Selespeed myself.

The Q-Tronic automatic was available for the V6 and the diesels,
while the Selespeed was only available for the 2.2 (I think it was also planned for the 1750 TBi - being the replacement of the 2.2 - but I'm not sure if that came to fruition.

The 159 Selespeed was available in Ireland as well
I think it must be the flappy peddle bashing of Jeremy Clarcson that meant you never got it
