They are becoming rare, but not achieving great prices, Good if you are a buyer, not so good if you are selling.

What are the details of yours?

i've been looking around for one as a winter hack for a while. seems to be feast or famine but i dropped lucky with a speculative bid on the bay of e.

mine is probably an exception but 10 months MoT, full respray, cambelt, rear bearings, rear brakes, various bushes, windscreen, MAF, rad all replaced in the last 3 years. not what you want to hear but winning bid was 420. having said all that, i haven't seen the car yet so remains to be seen just how much of a bargain it'll turn out to be !!

there's a grey one for sale by my workplace - bit of MoT and tax, but a blowing exhaust and probably other undisclosed problems, with a screen price of 399

Rosso in Leeds with scant details regarding history but a new MoT, buy it now was 500

when i started looking in late summer, 12-1500 seemed to be the "usual" sort of price range

I think the main problem is that if you buy one needing a couple of jobs doing those jobs can quite easily cost more than the car.

A 500 car needing a 500 cambelt replacement isn't as much of a bargain.

This is biased but no, nothing wrong with a diesel Alfa Romeo.

The 1.9 unit is very good and has its quirks, I.E. if the belt ever did give up then luckily it just snaps the rockers as opposed to destroying the whole unit, very reliable & slick 6 speed transmission, power from as little at 1300 all the way to 5000rpm, very free revving too. I do believe its first carnation was the first to be common rail.

I have the 150bhp model and economy is stupendous, at 830 miles per 86 tank of fuel is awesome in my opinion, even from an 8/9 year old engine.

Even die hard Alfa fans & owners will sing the praise of the diesels.

But like any other car on the road they aren't without fault.... EGR valve etc etc

I should note that the 2.4 is awesome too, it is the same engine with just another cylinder that is all. So if you want out n out performance and a little economy then the 2.4 is sublime, naturally the 1.9 unit pushes more towards economy, but still performs well.
