My 275,000 mile 156 is back, long live the 156!

Well after pensioning off my 275,000 mile 156 for a GT the 156 is now back due to the fact that the GT I bought from a well known Alfa Main Dealer in the North West turned out to be neither fit for sale, use or purpose.

LONG LIVE THE 156!

Driving it again was like meeting up with your first ever girlfriend, it was fantastic and a joy to drive.

Im also intrigued into what the GT's issues were?

Is the dealer in the north west based in Knutsford?

I had my Giulietta from there and so far so good?

Seriously?

I really did find them quite helpful and polite, i mean i know there going to be as there selling something and the first test would be if something went wrong but i went up openly telling them i wasn't sure about the brand or that i'd even want the car. But wanted a go in one to see how it drove and it went from there really.

I suppose a dealer is only as good as its product mind, if its a troublesome product then its how they deal with it, but if a car breaks down repeatedly, no matter how polite the people are that sold it too you, your still going to be pretty pi***d

These days 'Mangos' has generally declined to the label 'Mongos'

whilst its all good fun to slag the dealers off - not that I've had any issues with them, I'm intrigued as to just what the dealers can have done to turn the situation round from:

" Just replaced my 275,000 mile 156 SW today with..........
.........a 40,000 mile FASH GT Cloverleaf in Atlantico Blu!

It's a beauty.

Keeping the 156 as a spare for the time being tho'. "

to "not fit for sale or purpose". More specifically, what can make any 40K mile car that bad.....especially since no issues appeared to have been identified on the 190 mile trip home

Have you had a lot of bad experience dealing with them SPIDER95 - it's a big trek from Suffolk?

Like I've said elsewhere.......it'd be good to know what the problem was.

Mangoletsi, Alfa Romeo Dealership in Knutsford - New*and Used Cars Manchester, Cheshire, Sale

Mangos have a blue GT up at the moment. Do we assume it's different to the one that Julian has returned? 45493 miles

I'd assume the exact opposite of that!

Julian's car had 44k on when he bought it. He put 1500 miles on it straight away. Then sent it back to a 'well known dealer in the north west'.

If that car was bad enough for another Alfa dealer to send it back, has the original dealer put the faults right now?.
My feeling is, its a Sh*tter and they are chancing there arm again on another sale
