Thank You Benfield Alfa Newcastle: Service Way Beyond The Call Of Duty!

Guys,

I just have to bring to the attention of those who don't already know about Benfield Alfa Romeo in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Once again they have gone way beyond the call of duty but this time have surpassed ALL expectations.

I'll try and keep it brief but I bought a beautiful shiney pristine low mileage Alfa GT with FARSH (or so I thought) from an Alfa Romeo Main Dealer in the North West.

However from just driving it home the 180 miles I suspected I may have a problem with the clutch.

I immediately booked it into Benfield Alfa for an inspection and left it with them.
A phone call arrived at 2.00pm that day from the Service Manager (never a good sign) asking if I was in the area and could I make my way over and have a chat with them about the car.

The GT was still up on the ramp when I arrived and I was greeted by the guys at Benfield with worried faces, I knew something was seriously wrong.

To put it bluntly, the car was not the car I thought I had bought.

The GM at Benfield Alfa, Dax Pearce stuck his head out of his office as he could see that all was not well. He offered to go up to see the car for himself on the ramp, got all of the relevant information from the technicians, made one phone call to the supplying dealer, walked back down to the showroom and in one sentence told me that he had arranged for me to have a full refund and the car to be collected and sent back to the North West.

Now if it were not for Dax and the lads at Benfield intervention and help, I have no doubt that i'd be sitting here in front of a solicitor getting them to sue the supplying Dealership. Instead of that the refund has arrived and the car is on it's way back to them.

In my view that is the very best service anyone can possibly ask for.

Thank you Benfield Alfa Romeo.

Wow, surely they owe you some compensation for all of your time wasted with it? keep an eye on the website of the said dealer in case it comes up for sale agin in a few weeks.

Well done Dax and co, if you weren't so far away I would contact you about my next car lol.

Seriously, don't let distance be a problem.

I believe they are number one out of all UK Alfa Romeo Dealers for Customer Satisfaction and number of Alfas sold.

That's good service, although tbf you're an excellent customer to them!

Can you give us some clues as to what was wrong with the GT? I'm guessing structural integrity or accident damage.

Not sure if KNIEVEL77 wants everyone to know the exact dealer, although it is very easy to guess, so I won't for now. Although it would be nice to let everyone know the actual car to save them making the mistake of purchasing it. Will leave it up to KNIEVEL77

Well said, but I do see what looks a nice car on the website that services part of the North West in terms of Alfa Romeo. My favourite colour as well

What would be helpful, perhaps, is if Julian can say what was up with the GT.

I'd love to know what was said to dealer by Dax for the immediate refund and collection of the car. Come Knievel, you've given us a glass and a bottle of Vodka, we need you to pour it now.

Pretty disgraceful that if it was bad enough for M********i to agree to give the OP his money back without a quibble, that they then have it back on sale. They should be reported to Trading Standards?

Naa, sounds like he's had a no quibble refund. It'd be good enough for me.

It's in other threads that the car was bought from Mangoletsi, but agree this thread would be of more use if we new which car and what was wrong. I assume there are some legal implications that don't allow Knievel to enlighten us, I'm sure he's actually craving to tell us.
