Bedford to Exeter in the 166

For the trip to the Arb association conference in Exeter this year I decided to take the 166 rather than the family Leon FR

Aside form the 80 to fill it up - the run down was a simple delight - arriving as fresh as when I set off. Reminds me of a previous journey back from Totnes in my previous 166 clear road and no need to change gear from the A38 all the way to J12 of the M1 - effortless.

Even though the 166 is 10 years old and 97000mls on her original springs etc - it is still the most comfortable car I have driven.

Just thought I would share

Shame the journey home was delayed by congestion on the M42

When I moved from the 75 to the 1st 166 it was staggering - let alone the handbrake . The move from the 147 to the GT wasn't really much of a change - apart from the lack of headroom. Being 6'4'' seeing the traffic lights when waiting for them to change usually involved some contortion
