Cry Like A Baby Tired of bad service experiences

It seems every time I entrust one of my cars to somebody else I have a bad experience and I end up wishing I had enough space to all my own servicing. Twice now I have had cars that have come back from a garage with kerbed wheels and problems they seem unwilling or unable to fix. Are there no decent garages left that just want to provide a good service an not just get your car out the door?

That is why I do as many repairs as possible myself.

I just serviced my Punto Evo and found that the main dealer "Experts" had put in the wrong spark plugs. As you might not already know, this is a major nono on the Multiair engines.

I know a good garage close by. They are not the closest or the cheapest but ill always use them, cause of quality. No experience with Alfa romeo here in bristol as I haven't had to a do a service yet. First bike service in a couple of weeks (free labour), lets see how they are.

I'm incredibly lucky as I have Alfatechnico about three miles from my house and Cornerspeed (for my Ducati) about four miles from my house!
I wouldn't trust anyone else to look after my toys.
It always worth finding a specialist in my opinion as they know all the tricks and tips peculiar to your particular car (or bike).

Alfatune for servicing and anything I can get my car there to sort. A couple of locals have been used when they were the only option although I still got the parts myself when my rear suspension went screwy.

Reminds me, I need to give Gus a call sometime as mine's due a service.

I just got a service reminder from a dealer in Croydon who put some dodgy additive in with the oil change on the first service and then charged for the rubbish plus twice the oil it has capacity for .
I replied telling them this and that ,whilst they could "only apologise ",Alfa apologised and sent vouchers and told them never do it again. But if they wished to redeem themselves they were welcome to do a quote . Not so much as a postcard from them!

I love the freebies from Benfield Alfa...........lovely coffee, great biscuits, an 8C to drool over, car magazines to read, the internet to use, a nice blond to distract you and best of all, usually a very competitive invoice!

Garage
I've been using what was Italian Car Services (now GJ Motors at the same site) since I bought my first FIAT Bravo in 2001. They have changed hands a few times but many of the staff remained until now. Only the new owner, Gary, is familiar and he goes out of his way to explain, accommodate and repair at excellent prices. I know there is another Alfa specialist on the other side of Lincoln but I'm not sure how they are with the JTD and are a bit further away than is convenient. Admittedly, I feel very lucky to have a garage I can trust.
