What kind of oil would you put into a 1.9 8v during the service?

Hi Neil, I am interested in doing this but the 147 handbook says the correct oil to use is 10w40. I have always used this but know it was later updated to 5w40. Which is the best option?

Well I don't know as the mechanic you would know better than me! Is 5w40 (as its thinner) better for cold start ups in winter? It would be ideal if it's okay to use.

Garage
I wet to Italia autos for my service, most impressed with the work.

As for oil, for most cars a range of oils seem to work, and will depend on the prevailing temperatures, your driving style etc.
