If indeed a "cornice cromata round your fendenebia " on the Giulietta is news! Sad lack of commitment .

Giulietta

Whoever they are, they won't be a redneck. Chrysler's current plants are all in the Northern states: Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois, plus other plants in Mexico and Canada.

"We'll build in the USA" is a perennial threat to the Italian unions. I don't know how they'd make good on it, though, as Chrysler is starting to hit capacity problems in their plants.

I suppose the only logical model is the Alfa Compact SUV - it's based on Jeep Cherokee, which is assembled in the USA already. And I can't see much of a prestige issue in Europe from saying that your SUV is built in a factory that makes Jeep vehicles.

If the Alfa SUV is built anywhere, it'll be Mirafiori I reckon. Spare capacity and now building the Maserati Levante.

I don't think the Alfa SUV and Levante are going to be the same size.

Levante is based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee; the Alfa SUV was to be a crossover/compact SUV on the 'non-Grand' Cherokee (that's such a confusing naming scheme). That model is currently only built in the USA, but it's closely related to the Giulietta, so the Alfa derivative could also be built in Cassino, I guess.

Also for Italian production is a Juke-sized Jeep model to be built beside the FIAT 500X at Melfi, but I don't think there's going to be an Alfa equivalent of this (would a Mito Crosswagon sell, I wonder?)

Whoever told you that was talking gibberish I am afraid.

FIAT just threatens to take production outside Italy to scare the unions.

Product plan clearly shows all new models till 2016 will be built in Italy and exported to USA.

And AR said ages ago only new model is 4C with the two face lifts this year of the MiTo and G.

At least next year there are 2 new models planned.

2015 4 new models.

So unfortunately we gonna have to accept this sad stand
