Alfa Romeo and Chrysler delays cast cloud over Fiat Read more: http://www.autonews.c

MILAN (Reuters)
-- Fiat Group faces potential delays to its two main strategies -- relaunching its upmarket Alfa Romeo brand and taking full control of U.S. unit Chrysler Group -- putting a question mark over its ability to tap into any European market recovery.

And in a move that could add to investor uncertainty, Fiat Group and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne cancelled his appearances at the Frankfurt auto show on the eve of the event due what Fiat said were "last minute unforeseen business commitments."

This is already covered here: https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/gener...al-thread.html

The speculation (and it is that) is that SM is off trying to nail down the purchase of the remaining Chrysler shares, as opposed to waiting until at least May 2014, maybe 2015.

Giulietta

Hopefully a breakthrough in the negotiations with VEBA that required his presence in the USA. After all, anything centered in Europe could have been done at or around Frankfurt, as all the relevant people would be there anyway.

I'm wondering if the recent announcement of an additional $2bn investment in road car developments by Ferrari means that they and FIAT have come to an agreement regarding engine technology sharing with Alfa Romeo.
At Geneva, Marchionne said he was talking to Ferrari to source a "wop engine" for the Giulia, but never did announce the results of those talks, but he did say a month or two ago that they now had "everything [they] needed" for AR's relaunch.
