Sorry hope this isn't a repost - i searched & couldn't see anything.

But how sexy is this car! If I had a spare £45k lying around I'd snap this up in no time! Love love love these!! And this one is perfect!

The sexiest Alfa in the world? I don't think so:

What he said. The 33 Stradale wins hands down!

That GTAm is nice but it's built on a 2000GTV which I believe is incorrect, the GTAms were built on US version 1750s, not 2000s. There were some 2000cc capacity GTAms but they had the 1750 engine enlarged. So a bit of a bogus replica really. But nice nevertheless.

Not sure.. The 33 is lovely but doesn't tickle my balls like the GTAm does.

Brilliant replica. How much do the original ones fetch?

Difficult to answer, as they very rarely ever come up for sale, the GTAm being much rarer than the GTA. More information here:

Alfa Romeo GTA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If ever a genuine GTA/GTAm ever came up for sale, you can forget the price tag normally expected for replicas.

It's a good job the 33 Stradale doesn't tickle your 'extremities'. A 'guide' price for one in excellent condition, as demonstrated at Villa d'Este, would be in excess of £2 million.

Alfa should have carried on with this car just like Porsche have done with the 911

I agree. It's my dream car and owning one of those is on my "to do before you die" list.

The purist in me says they overdid the wing extensions on the Replica GTam - and it looks daft with huge wings and "touring" seats. So no, my £45k would be spent elsewhere, even though the Bertone body is one of my all time favourites.

Sad to say I don't feel the love for that 33 Stradale either. I never liked the resolution of the side windows as they blend into the roof and the whole glasshouse never looked "right" to me. A bit too "kit car".

In terms of "racing car inspired" designs, I would have said the appropriate Porsches were probably the 904 and 906 which are road-legal racers, rather than the 911 which was a true GT Tourer. The 904/906 were not developed further.

EDIT: If Alfa had continued to develop the car they would have ended up with a lightweight two seater using racing car inspired construction, (maybe a lot of carbon fibre) but would have dropped the complicated engine for something more robust, say 4 cylinder, that got its power from having a turbo. The car would have to be light of course, and mid engined ........... they could call it the 4c

Don't disgaree on the GTAm, prefer the cleaner GTA myself. However, I have to disagree with you on the 33 Stradale. Seen one up real close, heard it start up and smelt it. Pure auto porn, a stunning car.

It's the only Alfa I miss seeing. Seeing a RZ for example was like sticking dirty needles into my eyes .

Purely on the grounds of smell and sound I will let you have the Stradale - but the bodywork still doesn't work for me. In the era of the Stradale I was totally in love with the Ferrari P3 and against that, the Alfa looked dainty but unfinished. And I preferred the full racing versions of the 33 (I was a mere lad of 17)

The Alfa engine is however jewellery - lovely bit of engineering.
