Cry Like A Baby Disappointed....

This morning, at around 8:30-8:40, coming back from Staines to Ashford along the A30 and then A308, having done the weekly shop there was a pretty good Alfa convoy - red GT 1.9JTD, red 147 Collezione, and me in a red GQV. I started at the back of the convoy, but thanks to the ebb and flow of traffic (and I was in a hurry ) I ended up at the front.

I stared long and hard at the drivers of the GT and 147 as I passed, and did I even get a glance in return? No, nothing....

Disapointed? YES!

Hope it was not anyone on here.....

I've had a similar issue myself actually.

Was out in the GTA and came across another 147 GTA in brilliant blue, slowed up as I passed and didn't even get a look when we were side by side, ****s!

Because you were in a more modern Alfa and importantly PASSED THEM, they were probably muttering "kn*b"

One day, you will get a cheery wave. Don't depair. I pass a couple of Alfas most days on the way to work and have never received any acknowledgement to my waves.

Round here there seems to be more and more modern Alfas around. i don't think these drivers are conscious (or bother) about acknowledging other Alfas, it's just another car to them. Also, several are driven by womaen drivers and I very much doubt you would get any real eye contact or waves, not being disparaging, but more from a female safety point of view.

Unless the other person is the instigator of the wave, I never normally wave to anybody unless they have a GTV or Spider as I have something in common with them.

The day I get a returned Alfa wave, I will pull over immediately for a rest. NEVER had one. I get loads from other classic car drivers, all sorts of different marques...MG's, Morgans, Triumphs, etc. but NEVER from another Alfa driver, other than at organized Alfa events, which don't count.

Sadly the majority of G & Mito owners don't know or care what they have bought into ...perhaps the 2014 "relaunch" will kick start a bit of revival in here!

I did once get an acknowledgement to my frantic waving and lamp flashing from a red 159 but it was probably misunderstood - as I had forgotten I was driving a Volvo at the time.
