Cannot believe this Spider on't bay!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo...#ht_928wt_1399

Not only does some plank ask "ANY PAINT FADE?" he has the bare faced cheek to say "Its been garaged and not left in the sun. There is no paintwork fading on the bonnet, boot or other metal panels."

Just because it all faded at the same time

To be fair it looks a bit like his camera's really bad at red. If you look at the pic in the second row, it looks OK - plus all the other reds (brake calipers, warnings, car in background) look washed out. Cameras don't do red very well in general but that's another story.

I took some of mine at the Pininfarina Tribute rally earlier this year and they all looked pink.

Compare the colour of the bumper with the top of the suspension struts in the engine bay pic.

It's pink.

Why would the slam panel mounts have faded?

I don't think they are. I've not sampled the colour in photoshop, but making allowance for their curved nature, I think they're a lot closer to the turrets than the bumper.

The car parking the in the street in one of the photos is the same pink colour - its the sellers camera thats at fault here I think.

If you take pictures of a red car in bright midday sunlight with a fairly ordinary camera, they always come out looking pink. Early evening as the sun begins to go down and the light is less harsh works far better.
