No mention of the Museo reopening for the Milan festival in a year or two. Autoblog.NL mentioned this today, citing an article in Quattroruote .

Sad - here is the Google translation. Not brilliant, but you can get the gist of what they are saying:

Sign discolored, rusty, bulldozers and "jackals" in search of copper. This is what remains of the Alfa Romeo in Arese, after that industrial activity has been abandoned (2005) and the old style absorbed from that of Fiat in Turin (2009). On April 30, has been permanently disconnected the power grid that powered the last original buildings, where was located the mechanical department, to allow mechanical shovels to attack even those in view of the redevelopment of the area.

From here, the famous Hall 28, where he produced the latest Alfa Romeo engine, the V6 Busso, began the photo report on the June issue of Ruoteclassiche, in search of the last traces of the men who have worked here and the findings of the industrial activities that have taken place here for over forty years. "It's over 12/06/2009" someone "engraved" with the spray on a wall of the old style: the sign of a resignation of the bitter and painful awareness that a good story was closing for good. Milan lost "his" Alfa Romeo.

I assume that this is where my phase 1 GTV was born, 15 years ago. The place seems to have gone to ruin quite quickly.

The Dutch version of Auto Edizione are going with this:

Although Lingotto still keeps very quiet as legal owner of the contents of the museum, there are rumors of a new investment, which of course also be faced with the imminent comeback of the Milanese brand.

The news comes out, it is now apparent that FGA for more than 10 million, will be of Expo 2015. Official sponsor This was announced at a formal roundtable discussion between the various parties involved. It is too early to speak what the Museo Storico concerns. Has a concrete plan The museum may change and may even be extended to include a conference room, hotel rooms and commercial area. Just as a few years ago, has already been said. Managers by the end of Alfa Romeo in the corridors Nothing is sure yet given the current economic climate, but chances are now grown, that the historic Alfa 250 and the associated extensive documentation can be in Arese. Visited within the next half year by public
Expect a proper English version in a few days.
