Anyone interested in a very expensive Alfa watch?

The 679 watch on the Alfa boutique could be available to a good home soon. Its brand new and still in its case...what do you think its worth?

It's all relative - it depends if you've got a sinecure funded from the public purse, or a job in the real world.

JB . Feel safe I does, but then I've always been a lifelong misguided individual, and skint, so prepare for the worst.:

Lol I don't know I would pay that for an unbranded watch - who excactly makes the movement/watch? - if it is one of the big boys then fair enough.

I paid only a little more than that for my Tag Heuer and it's been exceptional so far.

Re: Anyone interested in a very expensive Alfa watch?

I bought a fairly decent one over in Germany, duty free as they were in the PRI shop. Got hard up one leave so 'Pop' bought it off me and he wore it every day, in a manual job for about ten years. He then gave it to me saying it was not really accurate any more , probably thought it required cleaning. Stll got it, but as it's an automatic, I reckon the self winding mechanism is worn out. He never had it cleaned in the time he owned it. Not really a watch fan at all now, arm chair and clock person really.:

What's that, a solid gold Mariner, encrusted with diamonds, and a sapphire on the crown? Bet the sharks would be after that, and not just the ones when sub-aqua diving, more like the street variety!

Re: Anyone interested in a very expensive Alfa watch?

£10 for a Casio digital for work.
£40 for a Fossil for casual.
£250 for a Citizen for smart.

Why spend any more?

Re: Anyone interested in a very expensive Alfa watch?

Never heard of one of those before. Looks like a Sub-Mariner, fairly current, in stainless steel to me, but I'm no expert so take your word for it:

As I understand it - COMEX are a commercial diving company and years ago they gave these specially commisioned watches to divers as a long service reward.
For some reason Rolex geeks love 'em Now I love me watches but just don't get the fuss over these.

Re: Anyone interested in a very expensive Alfa watch?

Looks very similar to the Sub-Mariner, apart from the CONEX label and the fact it hasn't got the cyclops lense. So I guess they were a limited edition for the CONEX folk. Not worth the price tag, imo, but I guess it's a collectors piece.:

I agree with you.

I don't really buy into Rolex at the best of times (they're fine, nothing wrong with them, but not worth the worship) and these definitely aren't worth £72k to me. They obviously are to the people buying them, though.

I thought the Comex were more SeaDweller than Submariner, I guess there were both.

It is a Submariner but with the COMEX writing, they also did a Sea Dweller too.
