Decisions, Decisions....

I'm rubbish at making decisions, so I thought I'd let you guys do it for me

I refer you to this thread, please take a look at the interior shot of my car:

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/just-...59-my-gtv.html

I'm not so keen on the mats I have in there (black with red piping - it's the red bit I don't like), so I've been thinking of getting some new ones. Thing is, should I go for plane black ones, or blue ones to match the rest of the car (concerned it might look a bit too blue though).

Blue Mats: Alfa Romeo GTV (92-06) Tailored Car Floor Mats in Blue on eBay, also, Alfa Romeo, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 25-Jul-08 12:02:30 BST)

The jury's out....

Sorry

Ok blue mats it is then, they're pretty cheap, so I hope they're not crap quality, but I don't use the car loads so they should last long enough. Better than paying £70 for official ones

Ah... but the £70 originals are the finest mats you will ever plonk your tootsies in. Available in black, dark grey, sand and red I believe..

Alfaholics (I think) had a job lot in circa £25 a set.

I'd go dark grey official mats, or the blue ones in your link.

Black mats with red piping in a silver/blue car.. what were you thinking about?

golden rule: only ever use original mats. aftermarket are never as good.

those ebay mats dont even have securing clips on the driver's mat. bloody lethal!

Re: Decisions, Decisions....

I think I bought the equivalent mats for the first of my 164s. They weren't a bad fit, but they were thin - you are getting what you pay for. The originals really are thick and luxurious and remember that the GTV footwells slope downwards, so the mats will be inclined to slide forwards and interfere with the pedals, whereas that won't be a problem with the originals. I plan on replacing my originals with another set of original mats. They have worn through under the accelerator heel part - I like to think that is a result of spirited driving on the part of the previous owner, rather than a reflection on the carpet quality..
