Re: wish me luck

apparantly if a stone chip passes within approximately 30 miles of your paintwork then its not covered on warranty. also interestingly they went on about if i had a replacement windscreen. ie. people damage the paint when replacing the windscreen and the rust travels under the paint.

i was curious how my windscreen change last week, rusted the roof in the middle, in under a week....pretty agressive this euro rust!!!!!

will let you know how it goes. to be fair they are nice chaps, just hope they decide in my favor.

Re: wish me luck

Euro rust is the worst, way more violent than that American stuff, heck I was even attacked by some Euro rust just last week.

On another less funny note, good luck with all this. I may work for Alfa but I definately do want things to go in your favour.

Re: wish me luck

If its in the middle of the roof then i think it must be down to them, pretty difficult to get a stone chip there. Could be one of those toxic bird poos from an unknown bird species brought on by global warming

Ahh, the random nature of an official Alfa inspection. Nothing like it to tighten the gut and loosen the sphincter.

Hope you've bought some lucky heather.

Re: wish me luck

the result....

hi, so please tell me how you can help me........

"doubt it will get through mate"

"probably a stone chip"

"its over 3 years so the paint isnt covered. now its into its perforation warranty which means you have to have a hole right through the metal to make a claim......" (main dealer told me paint was covered for 8 years)

"not worth putting the claim in mate"

" ok i will put the claim in, but doubt they will do it"

"might call you back in a few weeks but they wont do it"

blah blah blah.....the guy didnt even see that there were two bubbles on the roof not one.....

so basically instead of a small respray job, alfa would rather wait until it corrodes through the metal to then have to replace tthe section.........small cost or big cost....hmmmmmm surely its a no brainer.

oh well thats main dealers for you. then the main dealer said " good wheels, good colour, good condition, shame no leather, that engine is in demand, give you three grand for it"

no theyve not done anything "wrong" so to speak, but i dont feel very valued......total lack of etiquet really.

love, love is a verb, love is a doing word.

Re: wish me luck

That's warranties for you. I just had a long discussion with Alfa about the anti-perforation warrranty and how the dictionary definitions of "perforated" do not necessarily require a hole to appear but that's what they stuck to. However, I was very nice and did get a goodwill contribution. Always worth trying.

It's not just Alfa - just had a clutch and flywheel replaced on my wife's BMW at 53K and the third party warranty would not cover it - supposedly normal wear and tear (don't ask).

Cheers,

Nigel
