Re: What size wheel bolts??

I'd only say avoid chrome plated. once you burred the edges and they start going rusty, there's no way to tidy them up.

Personally I'd stick to the steel ones and just keep a small pot of silver paint handy to touch them up when they go a bit manky.

Titanium bolts is interesting.. I think you need to chat up some Ferrari owners at the next Italian Car day and find out a) if they have titanium bolts and b) get them to take one off so you can compare it with yours. Then trot to the Fezza dealer with £500 in your pocket!

Re: What size wheel bolts??

I've recently bought some for my 147.

They were...

Pitch... 12 X 1.25mm.
Thread Length... 24mm.
Seat... 60 deg' Taper.
Hex Head... 19mm. (standard 147 bolts are 17mm, but I changed mine to match the new locking ones I bought).

The bolts are all the same in terms of Pitch and Seat, but the Thread lengths differ between models, so you'd have to find out the thread length for a 159 (not forgetting the style of wheel... e.g. "Standard Alloys"). Maybe just "Pop" one out and measure it.

I got mine from this guy on ebay... Alfa Romeo alloy wheel bolts 24mm full set of 20 on eBay, also, Nuts, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 28-Jun-08 11:33:19 BST)

You get a full set of 20, but obviously you keep four back and replace them with the locking ones (giving you four spares).

Re: What size wheel bolts??

Some newer Alfa alloys will not take a 19mm bolt head so be careful when using that size. The 17mm was used from about 2001 onwards

Re: What size wheel bolts??

I've searched the 'bay & have opted for a set of the 17mm "chrome" nut covers (oooh errr) like I fitted to Clare's GT.

The look really good without being at all bling or chavvy

I thought of that (whether the socket will fit into the wheel) after I'd paid for them (Too late then!!! ).

But, as it turns out, the "Seat Diameter" on the 19's was the same as the Original 17's.

Reason I went with the guy of Fleabay, was local Alfa dealer wanted to charge me TEN BLOODY QUID EACH!!!
