It's the scratch marks I'm not happy with The PO had a cat and the 93Spider is all scratched on the hood.

Actually, i think he has a distinct appreciation for italian flair, not a single claw mark..... guess that's why i never bother him...

You'd better check your wheels - my mate ran over her cat because it was asleep on top of the wheel, under the wheel arch (where the wheels tend to be )

Yes, in the year i have been here i have not seen a single live chicken, duck, turkey or any other mainstream edible avian... come to think of it, i have not seen any crows, hawks or eagles either..

Have seen Falcons though, The locals here love Falcons, this bird is on the coat of arms of all government departments... and it is truly a sight to behold in real life...

BF, sorry man, chicken in the UAE is restricted to refrigerators at Carrefour (our kinda Tescos) and Spinneys (our kinda Woolies)...

Re: The Neighbourhood Cat....

Indeed.... it's against the law to have Growlers out in public over there !!

Back on topic BTW SM I have to say that's a particularly healthy looking cat for out there !!

All the cats in AD looked like they were on their last legs

Maybe the difference between City and Suburb cats

Price of pork must be dirt cheap there since no one wants it

You were lucky....still no pork here in Qatar

As for the chicken it was from a neighbour's house who kept them in his garden, a bit odd but seems to be quite common for older local Qataries to do that.

It was funny at the time, just wish I'd had my camera to catch the look on my kids faces.......I think my 2 cats and a dog that we now have would have chase it off these days though

Now i know you have definitely lived in the UAE.. yep he's a healthy boy....

The pics were taken on site early this morning when i got to work. I work on a construction site and the labourers here love this cat, so much so they all feed him, so he eats fish and chicken all day... and when he got hurt in a fight with some dodgy neighbourhood cat, the guys on site gave him some meds, dunno what the ointment was on the wounds but he stopped limping after about a week and now he's back to normal...... guess everybody loves him here... and he's very friendly.....

Yeah cats are treated badly in these parts.. this is the only healthy looking one i know, and i've been here for a year, so that's also why i treat him well and let him sit on my car + he doesn't scratch the car so i don't mind......

I only ever used to see cats hanging around the dumpsters on the block corners in AD

How the hell those poor little things used to stand the smell was beyond me Then again... if they're hungry enough

My walk to work in the summer was planned out to avoid those corners !!

Yeah, the Visa Run.... things have changed now somewhat.. it's illegal to work on visit visas and now they are enforcing it... so companies are getting nailed left right and centre.... there's also 6 months ban now on resignations before a year even after getting an NOC...

WTF

The wonderful company that I worked for out there lost my paperwork and certificates... I haven't seen them since

Hence my constant renewing of VV's while there !!

There's some pretty big stuff going/kicking off out in AD at the moment (the Aluminium Plant/the Refinery) but I guess I won't be going back then !!
