The end is near..... I think

I've had my 145 for almost 3 years now and have had a bit of a rollercoaster ownership experience (Or is that an average Alfa ownership ) I've burned up and down a motorway for most of that time and have spent a small fortune on keeping the 145 in tip top shape.

My new job is considerably closer to home but is along some pretty rough country roads so I'm thinking of selling my car to a good home which will prolong the life of this beautiful car.

The only problem is that every time I look at my car I feel a tug at my heartstrings.

I'm all confused....... HELP ME

Aslong as the next car is another alfa then it doesn't matter what you choose.

Erm I don't think it will be another Alfa, but that is a whole different subject that will remain under my hat for the time being.

Why not keep it? Would make a good weekend car and with reduced mileage would take less £££££'s to run

Finances won't allow me to tax and insure 2 cars otherwise that would be a perfect solution, so its either keep the Alfa or say goodbye to it.

Re: The end is near..... I think

Don't assume things will be better elsewhere with other marques. Don't get me started about BMW....new clutch and flywheel on a four year old car with 53K on the clock? At least with Alfas, they look beautiful and tug at your heartstrings. None of the other marques do unless you go well upmarket (Porsche, Maser etc). Stick with your Alfa or get another!

Cheers,

Nigel

If you love it as much as it sounds like you do then i'd keep it. if you love it that much then it must be a worth while car.

Try running it for a while and see if you can live with it on the rougher roads.

Then make an informed decision

Re: The end is near..... I think

Well I would have kept it, the 1.8TS is a great engine, better than the 2.0 IMHO (at least it hasn't got that really silly balance shaft belt, a really daft addition to the pantheon of daftest things in the Alfa Romeo Hall of Fame).

The confusion is all gone now folks, it was merely a blip

My bella is getting new shocks and a bit more TLC

The Alfa habit is far too hard to break
