Re: Clarkson on the recent AutoItalia show

Sorry, I read it and all I could think of is that he's a 2 faced git. Three morons wrecked 3 Alfas and then he writes this twaddle. I wonder if he's found out what's been said on here about it.Probably not.
Thanks for posting the article SR, I just have a different take on it, the guy can do nothing right for me I'm afraid where cars are concerned. I do love his history documentaries though.

Re: Clarkson on the recent AutoItalia show

I don't think he's two faced I think he know's how to garner a response from the general public in a way which makes him watchable and entertaining.

I think deep down he :inloves: car's, all car's regardless of fault. What you see on telly and in written form is all part of the 'Clarkson' brand.

Thanks for posting Simon, hadn't seen this one and it was a good read.

I like one of the follow up comments

'you don't need better brakes, just a louder horn'

I agreed with everything he said, right up until the Porsche bit. I cant abide those cars regardless of guise. I do, however, think the Montreal is a stunning bit of kit...just a shame i was unable to obtain one.

Clarkson is the guy who wrote '[email protected] buy Porsches'. On the back of his jacket. He's right about the Boxster 'feeling Italian', mine broke nearly every month

Re: Clarkson on the recent AutoItalia show

We were sitting behind JC at Goodwood, a few years ago, and he was talking to Derek Bell, and the enthusiasm in his voice is genuine, the guy is 100% petrolhead. He loves Alfas, and is very un PC, but I find him watchable and very witty.

If you delve behind the preposterously lacquered paint and the Mr Sheened dashboards, however, you are left with acre after acre of machinery that will leave you breathless with desire. I wanted everything.
That kinda echo's my feelings from the last scottish italian car day. Every car i saw, i wanted. particularly the AROC classic alfa selection.
