Re: anyone feeling flush?

Certainly an impressive beast! I was surprised to find recently that they look so much cooler in the metal than they do in photos. I'd have it but a bit much for me at the moment!

I couldn't disagree more. They are a stunning (in a good way) car in the flesh, far better than they appear in photos. The first time I ever saw one on the street, I had to stop and stare for a good five minutes hoping the owner would come back and we could chat.

I have always felt that if it where not for the fact they're all left hook, I would have had one by now. In fact aside from the steering, I would have THAT one (not sure I'd go much over 22 though).

If that's the only thing puttng you off, don't let it. Before my RZ I bought an in integrale (again, LHD) in London, and by the time I'd driven half-way home, it was second nature. You soon stop trying to change gear with the door handle.

Car park barriers and the like are a bit of a pest, but not really a big deal.

Yummy

Still remember seeing one of these in the flesh many years ago in a multi story car park in Leicester. Was pretty much what got me into cars, let alone Alfas! They do need to be seen in the metal to be appreciated fully.

Re: anyone feeling flush?

if i had the dosh, i'd own one
even if it is a shortened 75 v6 chassis (with IMSA underpinnings) and a total mad FIBREGLASS body

Re: anyone feeling flush?

I absolutely love it. I remember when it was launched and all my mates suddenly realised why I loved Alfas so much. When my local dealer had one in the showroom, I used to stop off every day on the way home from work just to stare at it. As I work shifts, I could be there at 6am, 10pm or 6pm. One evening, the salesman came over to me and had a chat with me. I found out they were relieved to discover I was simply admiring the car as I had been spotted on the security cameras so much, they were getting worried I was casing the joint!! I still fully intend to have one, one day.

Can't be very quick with a 3.5cc engine though-out of a model airplane?

Re: anyone feeling flush?

I'm kind of shocked by so many people saying they're ugly now, although before seeing one in real life I was of the same mind. The SZ is a very impressive car in the fibreglass () though and has an incredible presence! Don't knock it 'til you've seen it

Re: anyone feeling flush?

Check out those original factory panel gaps, i.e., you can get a little finger in between them! The only disadvantage of GRP and Zagato build quaility.

I love the brutality of that shape and remember distinctly being deeply affected by seeing and following a brand new one on the M25 in around 1991 registered apparently SZ 75 (wasn't carrying trade plates so I can only assume it was a pukka registration).

Aaah, the Integrale. Another car I would have dearly loved to have owned.....

I know you'll probably think this the worst excuse ever, but many years ago, a friend of mine owned a left hook ex MOD Cortina MkIV(yea, I know don't say it) and I only drove it the once, but it felt so much worse than driving a right hook on the right.

Re: anyone feeling flush?

my only experience of a lhd car was a mate from poland drove here in his dawoo matiz, i laughed at him for a while then decided to try it, i drove it for about 20 mins and was constantly punching the door while trying to change gear, it was the worst car i have ever driven mostly because it was a dawoo matiz but i really couldent get the hang of lhd, i suppose after long enough it would start to fell normal though
