Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

The 147 manual is throwing up errors for me running in XP. Will have to try mucking about with it in compatibility mode.

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

Just checked the 147, it is iso. You will need to install Winrar or any programme that will extract files.

Good luck!!!

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

I know

I have tried mounting it with powerISO its a 16bit windows file subsystem error. The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and windows applications. Its probably looking to be run on a windows 95 or 98 system.

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

Have just downloaded and you will need to open Nero and drag the ISO file into nero and burn on to cd or use daemon tools,to download click here

Just notice you used power iso, i would maybe try and burn the iso through nero.

Good to see someone from ayrshire on here..i am originally for Irvine

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

I downloaded the 147 and expanded to the ISO, then installed on a virtual CD drive. It works OK on windows XP, in English. If writing to CD, the disk would remain in the drive to access the data, as a virtual CD drive it is probably a bit quicker.
Definitely OK on XP.

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

A bit more. 147 has a selection of languages, and has data from 2001.
DTE has been replaced by elearn. but it can be very useful.

Ahh, I'm just down the road in Kilwinning so you'll know my area well

I'm still having nightmares with this 147 cd, seems not to like something on my system as it ether crashes during install or gives me file system compatibility errors, I've tried mounting with Daemon, Poweriso and now burned off the iso via nero. I'm sure I'll get it working if its working for other folk

I use a free downloadable program called "Magic Iso" to create virtual CD drives. Not essential but normally used to run those games for the godforbids. Uses hard disk space to fool the operating system into seeing extra CD drives that don't exist. Could be used without any CD drive.

You will need to get (download) Winrar to expand the download file "alfaromeo147reparatur" into an ISO file nearly 400MB long. This is an exact disk image. Most CD burners have the ability to write an ISO file to CD. This produces a CD identical to the original, where there are possibly some tracks that don't copy.

The autorun on the CD might work, but if not install by running the setup (DTEsetup.exe) on the CD that you have just produced. This installs a small amount on the hard disk C:\ drive.

Problems could arise because it was written to work on windows 3.1, 95, NT3.51 and NT4. Graphics are limited in size, but it seems to run on my PC.

Any questions?

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

Right, I got mine working. I had to repair my autoexec.nt and config.nt files, they'd somehow become corrupt and meant my system wouldnt run 16bit programs. If anyone else comes across this I can link to a few help pages to show you how to sort it, its fairly straight forward.

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

Good to see you got it running SHare, it saves buying the manual from ebay and other websites

The others seem to be ok and run fine on xp especially the 145/146

Re: FREE Workshop Manuals

The site owner has put them live on the internet...

I just supplied the links.

Ebay sell the same copies...does that mean they breach the copyright.
