part x my 156 for a GTV

im going to -hopefully- sell my boat this month, and im going to have 2500 in extra cash to spend, i was going for a jetski but im backing off, main reason is a red gtv up for sale in a near by garage...

the only thing that turns me off is the actual running costs, from my noble 1.6 2002 156 to a 2000 -maybe- gtv 2.0

except from the consumption which is gonna be much more, how much difference is gonna make to my wallet maintaining the gtv, service, oil etc etc.

road tax will be more and fuel will be more and the servicing im sure..

anyone else picked this path?
anyone who can point things out owing a gtv after owned a 156?

although if im going to pick a gtv im gonna buy it from the UK and have it shipped over here as its the nowadays fashion, every single one just imports cars from the UK and charges 1000-2000CYP just for the fun.. if im going for a gtv i might find something just selling my 156 and keeping the money from the boat for an extra help running the gtv..

whats your opinion?

OMG, I HAVE THE ALFA BUG

Re: part x my 156 for a GTV

A 2 litre GTV won't be much worse on fuel that a 1.6 156 IMO, as the engine has more torque and won't need thrashing as often.

Other running costs will be similar, except insurance will be more.
Spare parts wise I would guess that the 2 cars will be pretty similar.

Servicing shouln't be much different, except that a cambelt change will cost more due to the 2 litre having a balance shaft belt.
