What is it with Alfa's numbering!?

Why go 145-146-147-149? Same with 155-156-159 & 164-166-169!?

Why the jump?

Whats after 149/159/169?

That was a quick reply all...

I get the names Brera, Mito etc... Obviously 8C harks back to a classic name. But, are all the new cars going to be name or are we going to more into 170, 180 and 190 territory?

but haven't the hatches always been associated with the 14_ numbers? So if they were to then shift to say... 17_ to use with the hatches would that not cause just as much confusion?

I dunno... lol I'm confused though

Well, the small cars have been 14X, the middle cars 15X and the large cars 16X.

So I thought 17X, 18X and 19X could work in the same vain

As a trim name, but, not a model name... Maybe Veloce because that not present anymore...

But, in that case it'll be about 2014 before we know what will happen with the names....

Re: What is it with Alfa's numbering!?

Volvo owns numbers 141, 142, 144 and 145 though these might have ran out of time when Alfa started the 145. I think that they had to have permission from Volvo though.

Isn't the 148 going to be a 4 x 4 based on some GM platform or other?

That would be horrible... They can't use 148, 157, 158, 167 or 168 now... It'll just be confusing

They already did.

The 164 was rebadged 168 for the Oriental markets, as the number 4 has bad connotations...
