e-Tyres

Just ordered 2 tyres on line from e-Tyres, wondered if any body has used them, are they any good etc. ? Prices seem competetive.

Re: e-Tyres

No real problems other than the local (independent) dealer who came to fit my tyres undercut their price next time! £75 for Toyos fitted etc

E-tyres are charging a "management fee" so there is a margin for negotiation available.

Re: e-Tyres

If they are the guys that are mobile and come to fit them then i have no complaints. They are not necessarily the cheapest around but seeing as they come to you i dont mind paying a little extra.

Re: e-Tyres

used a couple of years ago and very good, now not so competitive, in fact my local indi tyre place was cheaper than all the internet places for Vredestein Sportracs, £55 for the 145.

I find "Blackcircles" a lot more competative.

Re: e-Tyres

tired a lot of internet tyre places for quotes and ended up using two local places - they were cheaper and willing to give me a discount.

T'internet is not always cheaper - ring a few local places and don't take the first price they give you - always ask is that the lowest they can do them for and quote some other prices at them.

It may well work

As a comparison, approx 6 weeks ago - 19'' B'stone £210 on Blackcircles, £180 at my local place - fitted

4xDunlop Fast response 195/55 15'' tyres for our Golf - £200 fitted locally

(as an aside - crazy one 19'' tyre equals 4 tyres for a Golf )

Re: e-Tyres

I agree with all the other posts here, indie places are usually cheaper ... although e-tyres are a bit more convenient ... one good thing that e-tyres do is give free puncture repair ...

I like Blackcircles too. Last time I used them I asked at the fitting centre if they would do tyres cheaper than the Blackcircles deal. The reply was " Sometimes yes, sometimes no. "

I suppose the moral is to find the price and then 'phone the fitting centre to see if you can get a deal.

For me though it would just be the one 'phone call, not going back to the days of 'phoning every tyre place within 25 miles, better things to do than that !

Re: e-Tyres

emotive thing,
saving money and buying locally.
I have used the same indie, for past
20+yrs.
Get good value, and help whenever needed.
coupled with a smile and `how`s the family?`
a local lad now has employment,
and I know that if I`m away,
Family know where to go.if need arises.
