Anyone else doing the Cloverleaf Club driving experience at Thruxton on June 19th? I'm booked in for the morning session.

Cheers,

Nigel

Great, let's try to hook up some way or another. Any ideas - secret handshake? AO dance? PP, what car will you be in?

Cheers,

I'll be in my 75 - it's part of a display organised by AROC.

Re: Cloverleaf Club Thruxton Event

Sounds interesting. PP - will you be participating in the track day or just publicizing AROC? Should be easy to spot you if you're part of the AROC display.

Nigel

How about sharing full names so we can checkout each other's name tags? I'm Nigel Rayner.

My extremely plastic lanyard will contain a photocopied piece of paper with Andy Staniford printed on it

I'm bringing two non Alfa driving friends.

Thanks Andy. We'll be sure to abuse your non-Alfa driving friends unless they are converted!

Re: Cloverleaf Club Thruxton Event

Nigel,

One drives a porsche, an A6 and a Toyota track car so he spreads his loyalties rather thinly. He likes my car though so I'm hoping that after tomorrow he'll join the fold!!

WOW! How good was that? It was a great day...nonstop track time. Very well looked after and lots of driving advice too.

Actually, I don't want too many going again next time so actually it was rubbish!!

Nice to meet you Nigel! And you PP. Loved the 75....now THATS an Alfa!

Nice to meet you as well Andy, and well done on the award

It was a great event, my first track day and I'm hooked. Great chatting with some of the other guys there, it looks like Simon will be getting a 3.2 Brera S (Prodrive) on the basis of the event! I bet the marketing folks will love that. Nice to meet Bill as well, and congrats on your award too

Well worth doing, and I will always pick the early start in future.

Cheers,

Nigel

You guys should be pleased to know that the afternoon was much busier - we even had to queue for track cars!!!

It was good to meet everyone and put faces to names.

Cheers.

BTW Bill, I forgot to say your 75 was really nice. May be the least interesting of your Alfas but it looked good. I love that engine bay.

Re: Cloverleaf Club Thruxton Event

I was at the afternoon session and it was very crowded altough still very enjoyable. I managed four different cars and about 12 laps in all, plus a hot lap in the Brera 3.2S, which was awesome. The organisers said there were 75 people in the afternoon, but only 23 in the morning. Guess next time I'll be getting up a bit earlier

Thanks v. much, guys. I appreciate the comments, especially as I'm envious of your daily drivers. 75s ain't the prettiest, but they do drive well. I had a number of comments from people who used to own them and one of the organisers can remember the launch party in Italy. He ran a dealership in the 80s. Very interesting.

Sorry I missed you. I was in the white group (but didn't do the afternoon briefing).

Did you make sure you won't get the car the driver murdered on the fast laps?!

Congrats...I've very jealous, its a gorgeous car.

Wow, fantastic I thought it was great drive, probably just about beats the GTA (although I still prefer the practicality of the GTA). What colour did you order?

Who says that marketing doesn't work?

Nigel

Re: Cloverleaf Club Thruxton Event

Simon, is it this one?

Auto Trader UK - Alfa Romeo 156 3.2 litre Supercharged V6

If so, they got the colour wrong.....

Cheers,

Nigel
